Sales and Installation
Factors that determine a proper installation of a HVAC system

SIZE
To insure proper sizing of equipment and duct system an engineering analysis should be done, measuring windows, walls, floors, insulation and how the sun hits the house. The analysis will tell us the size of the system it takes to properly heat and cool your home.

The largest overlooked part when installing an HVAC system is the air delivery or duct system. A space may require 4 tons of air, but if the system is sized to deliver 2 tons it is costing valuable dollars of unused air. We custom design the duct to deliver the right amount of air to each area of your home.

CODE
There are federal, state and local codes that dictate how an HVAC system is installed to ensure safety and efficiency. We will pull a permit with the proper agency and have the installation inspected. This protects the home owner from poor workmanship and insures the safety of their municipality. In most cases a contractor must have insurance and a license to pull a permit. With an inspection you will KNOW the system is safe and up to code.

EQUIPMENT
We are not BRANDWASHED. We KNOW that all manufacturers have engineers who design their product with checks and balances in the manufacturing process to insure quality of product. So a ton of feathers or a ton of nails is a ton.

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) is often described as miles per gallon. A 13 SEER is the minimum required by federal law, most manufacturers consider a 20 SEER the most efficient. The higher the SEER the lower the cost of running the system. Running a 13 SEER system can cost 50% more in energy then a 20 SEER.

COMPANY
Before you call a contractor find out about license and insurance requirements for contractors in your state. Make note of any uncomfortable rooms, this will help us better understand your heating and cooling needs.

Ask friends, neighbors, and co-workers for referrals. You can also contact local trade organizations for names of members in your area.

Ask us for customer references and call them. Ask about our installation or service performance, and if the job was completed on time and within budget.

A heating and cooling system is one of the largest purchases you'll make as a homeowner. Ask us about our financing and available rebates on energy-efficient ENERGY STAR qualified heating and cooling equipment. ENERGY STAR qualified products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and offer significant long-term energy savings.

We will spend significant time inspecting your current system and home to assess your needs. A bigger system isn't always better; we will size the heating and cooling system based on the size of your house, level of insulation, and windows. We will inspect your duct system for air leaks and insulation and measure airflow to make sure it meets manufacturers specifications.

When comparing contractors' proposals (bids), be sure to compare cost, energy efficiency and warranties. A lowest price may not be the best deal if it's not the most efficient because your energy costs will be higher.
